Description
Truvada (Tenofovir) Disoproxil 300mg/Emtricitabine 200mg Online
Truvada (Tenofovir) Disoproxil/Emtricitabine is used with other medicines for the treatment of the infection caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). HIV is the virus that causes acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Truvada is also used as part of a complete prevention strategy (Pre-Exposure prophylaxis) to reduce the risk of getting HIV infection in adults that are at high risk.
Truvada (Tenofovir) Disoproxil/Emtricitabine will not cure or prevent HIV infection or the symptoms of AIDS. It helps keep HIV from reproducing and appears to slow down the destruction of the immune system. This may help delay the development of serious health problems usually related to AIDS or HIV infection. Emtricitabine (Truvada) and Truvada combination will not keep you from spreading HIV to other people. People who receive Emtricitabine (Truvada) and Truvada may continue to have other problems usually related to AIDS or HIV infection.
Truvada (Tenofovir) Disoproxil/Emtricitabine is used along with other medications to treat HIV in adults and children who weigh at least 37 pounds (17 kg). Emtricitabine and tenofovir (Truvada) are also used along with practicing safer sex (e.g., condom use) to reduce the risk of HIV infection) in high-risk adults and teenagers who weigh at least 77 pounds (35 kg). Emtricitabine and tenofovir are in a class of medications called nucleoside and nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). They work by slowing the spread of HIV in the body. Although emtricitabine and tenofovir will not cure HIV, these medications may decrease your chance of developing acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and HIV-related illnesses such as serious infections or cancer. Taking these medications along with practicing safer sex and making other lifestyle changes may decrease the risk of getting or transmitting the HIV virus to other people.
