and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours. Sunitinib is a protein kinase inhibitor that works by blocking this enzyme to prevent cancer from growing.
Sunitix will only be prescribed by a doctor with experience in the use of anti-cancer medicinal products. Sunitix is an oncology product. It is used to treat cancer by preventing the activity of a special group of proteins that are known to be involved in the growth and spread of cancer cells. Is effective & safe in patients with advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumour after failure of imatinib treatment due to resistance or intolerance. Sunitix is used for the treatment of unresectable and/or metastatic malignant gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST) in adults after failure of imatinib treatment due to resistance or intolerance.
Before you being taking Sunitix, make sure you have spoken to your doctor and that they are aware of your full medical history and any other medicines you are currently taking. Sunitinib may harm an unborn baby in the womb. It must not be taken by pregnant women. Do not fall pregnant or father a child while taking Sunitix or in the months following treatment. Speak to your doctor about a suitable form of contraception while taking Sunitix. Sunitinib may be passed to a baby through breast milk. It is not recommended to breastfeed while taking Sunitix. Sunitinib can reduce the speed of wound healing. Avoid any form of surgery while taking Sunitix.
